Our heritage video

First off, the obvious: We love pets, and we love making healthy, quality pet food for them. However, we also wanted to fill you in a little more on our company and what makes us tick.

Here at Precise, we’re part of Texas Farm Products, an 80-year-old animal feed company located in Nacogdoches, Texas. We pride ourselves on being an American-based manufacturer and supplier of canine and feline foods made from all-natural ingredients produced mostly from U.S. and New Zealand sources.

But, like the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words – and, in this case, we’ll venture to say that a video may be worth more than that. Watch our heritage video to meet some of the people that bring the Precise brand to life.

Ask Our Vet: Rotating pet food

Q: I was told by the owner of the pet supply shop go to that it is a good idea to rotate dog food every three months, so I have been looking into other foods I can add in to the rotation.  Do you recommend rotating foods?  I have done some online digging and have read that it is a good idea, but would be curious to hear what your thoughts are.

A: I know there are people who like to change foods every so often, but I am not one of them.  I don’t know if they do it because they think it will make up for any deficiencies that one food might have over another, or if they think their dog needs variety.

I am one of those people that like to stick with something that works.  It eliminates the possibility of intestinal upset every time you switch.  I also worry that if I switch too often, I’ll create a picky eater with my dog.  I never have believed that I needed to “fix” something if it wasn’t broken in the first place.

Our on-staff veterinarian Dr. Lisa Drapela is on-hand to answer questions about your dog or cat’s health. Whether you’re wondering about the best Precise formula or just have a general health question, visit the Ask Our Vet section here on the website to connect directly with Dr. Drapela. We’ll feature some of her answers on our blog “The Dish.”
