Dasti, a 92-pound German Shepherd, was only 18-months old when he met Officer John Wayne Valdez and began serving as a drug-sniffing dog in the K9 unit of Nacogdoches, Texas. Now, at four years old, Dasti is a valued member of the police force and community.
As a hard worker and devoted canine, Dasti spends his days sniffing lockers at local schools for drug paraphernalia, helping to educate students about the dangers of drugs, and working with the local highway patrol. During his time off, Dasti enjoys snacking on rawhide and playing with his basketball.
Though Dasti receives many compliments about his physique, beautiful hair and incredible amount of energy, he is far from vain.
